Professor Peter Martel of Suffolk University of the United States of America visited King Tamar University on a working visit today. Peter Martel met with the Rector of the University, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Archimandrite Adam Vakhtang Akhaladze, Head of Quality Assurance Service, Professor Grigol Sulaberidze and Curator of Services and Communication Service, Professor Inga Ghutidze.
A business conversation was held on the possibilities of improving the quality of medical services in the Georgian health care system by sharing US experience. It was planned to develop joint projects in the direction of patient safety. For this purpose, it is desirable to introduce "fundamentals of patient safety" as a study discipline in the system of higher and continuous professional education and to reconcile the syllabus with the American side. Attention was drawn to the importance of conducting research related to patient safety and making its results available and disseminated in professional circles.
