For the second day, the working group of NABU (the Nature Biodiversity Conservation Union) project "Church and non-governmental organizations for ecological education of national minorities and hard-to-reach social groups" continues its business meeting at the office of the Eastern European Interreligious and Civil Environmental Forum (IRCEF) in Uzhgorod (Ukraine). The meeting is held in hybrid mode. Representatives of Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia are participating.

Archimandrite Adam Vakhtang Akhaladze, rector of the University of the Patriarchate of Georgia named after St. Tamar King, founder and head of the non-governmental organization - Center for Bioethical Research and Culture, presented a report to the members of the working group at the meeting today. Father Adam spoke about the transformation of the concept of ecology against the background of modern changed realities, first of all, the war started by Russia in Ukraine.

Father Adam noted that the attitude towards ecological problems is the most important indicator of the spiritual and moral condition of mankind. It is impossible to solve ecological (as well as social, economic, cultural and other) problems without spiritual and moral renewal, spiritual purification, recognition of ethical and value primacy at all levels of the education system and implementation in real life.
We remind you that Tamar Mefi University has been cooperating with IRCEF for several years. This is the international religious and public nature protection forum of Eastern Europe, whose primary goal in climate protection is to consistently inform the population about the problem in cooperation with the church, various religious organizations and the public (non-governmental) sector.

On September 2, 2018, Rector of Tamar Mefi University, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Archimandrite Adam (Vakhtang Akhaladze) was elected as a member of the IRCEF Climate Protection Committee.
