On June 24-25, 2022, an international scientific conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the restoration of diplomatic relations between Georgia and Turkey, Georgia and Turkey: inter-regional, was organized by the Saint Tamar King University of the Patriarchate of Georgia, Samtskhe-Javakheti State University, Caucasus Socio(Ethno) Linguistic Association and Tbilisi City Council. On June 24, the conference organizers hosted the participants in the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia.
The purpose of the conference was to present the researches of the neighboring countries - Georgia and Turkey, to define the problems of the scientific and cultural circles of the two countries, to present and popularize the activities of ethnic Georgian diasporas living in Turkey, to deepen the researches related to Turkish studies in Georgia.
The conference was opened by the Rector of the University of the Patriarchate of Georgia named after St. Tamar King, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Archimandrite Adam Vakhtang Akhaladze, who spoke about the need for interregional relations, the latest and joint researches.
The conference participants were welcomed by the Metropolitan of Gori and Athens, Reverend Andria, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Vladimir Konstantinidis, the Chairman of the State Language Department, Giorgi Alibegashvili, the Chairman of the Education and Culture Commission of the Tbilisi City Council, Kakhaber Labuchidze, the Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili, the Diaspora Alliance for Georgia Founder and director Tika Svanidze-Venko, rector of Samtskhe-Javakheti State University of Georgia Maka Beridze, carveologist, professor Harun Chimke, representatives of the academic circle, visiting guests.
