This icon came from Jerusalem to Georgia on March 15, 2013, and on the same day it was placed in an apartment in Tamariu.

The icon is a gift from the Anne Karem Convent of Jerusalem. It was specially created for the university named after St. Tamar King of the Patriarchate of Georgia with the blessing of Patriarch Theofilos of Jerusalem.

The icon of the Mother of God of Jerusalem is made in a special mixed technique by Monozon Svinklitikia of the Monastery of the Ascension of the Savior of Eleon (embroidery) and one monk of the Monastery of Saba Purgatory (painting; the monk himself wished to remain anonymous).

Today, before the icon, we prayed again for the peace and well-being of Georgia, the whole humanity and our university.
